Gene Cafe Home Coffee Roasters

key features & specifications

The Gene Cafe CBR-101 has established itself as an excellent roaster capable of producing about half a pound of uniformly roasted coffee (250g). Suitable for both the novice, and experienced home coffee roaster.  The intuitive controls of time and temperature, and full-view glass chamber, allow for a simple out-of-the-box roasting experience.  More seasoned home roasters will love the consistency of the CBR-101, and will be able to fine tune desired roast profiles.  The CBR-101 uses a unique vortex twisting, off-axis chamber rotation which assures complete distribution of the green coffee during roasting, and consistent roasting results.

Gene Café CBR-101 is designed for a household roaster, however lots of Café Owners use it for the Café and Restaurant. It incorporates state-of-the-art design, the highest quality materials and expert workmanship. Genesis Technology simplifies and automates the coffee roasting process. Before using the Gene Café, read below details and watch videos carefully to learn how to use and maintain your roaster.

Gene Cafe has added a safety switch onto the roaster – it will beep at you a couple times during the roast and one has to hit the roast button to keep the unit roasting, otherwise the machine will kick itself into cool mode. Raters consider the Gene Café Roaster the best value for home coffee roasting and so do we. It is capable of roasting very small batches and up to ½ pound batches to perfection. Its ease of operation make it an excellent choice for the home coffee roaster who wants the ability to roast larger batches. For the best results I roast 8 ounces at a time for washed coffees and around 6-8 ounces for dry processed coffees (Brazil, Yemen, Harrar and others) In addition, its innovative cooling system allows multiple batches throughout the day.

The Basics (for the Gene Cafe): Capacity: 1-8 Ounce | Heat Settings: Set specific temperature | Fan Settings: None, uses spinning drum. Roast Times: 15-22 minutes (excluding cool). Venting: Needed – Well ventilated area or stove top vent that goes outdoors is great – Has attachment for 3″ metal dryer hose to help with venting
